Innsbruck Dreaming

Ever since I rented a pair of twin tip skis earlier today, I've been giddy like a schoolgirl, thinking about tearing up the alp terrain. Now if I could only figure out where to ski. Literrally being surrounded by mountains has it's advantages: choices. It also has it's disadvantages: too many choices. Having only two days to ski leaves me to choose whether I want the olympic race courses of Axamer Lizum and Pascherkofel, the glaciers of Hintertux or giants such as St. Anton and Kitzbuhel, which are about an hour away. I'll leave it as a last minute decision, but I'm leaning towards the nearby Axamer Lizum.

Taking a walk to the old, historic part of town revealed a ubiquity of street vendors and markets, not too different from those found in Munich. I had my eyes set on a restaurant at the opposite end of town, but while making my way through the rows of street vendors I couldn't resist sampling anything that looked appetizing. And it all looked and tasted delicious. Unlike the states, where street food is considered second rate, here in Innsbruck and Munich for that matter, street food is considered superior to restaurant food.

Here is a little sample of what I had. It's fried dough, shaped like a bowl, with berries inside. As you can see this sample has already been sampled. :)

Now here are some more photos from Innsbruck. Enjoy...
