Just passed the security checks at JFK to catch a red-eye flight from JFK arriving in Munich at 8am. As I approached a Lufthansa counter earlier a young woman greeting me with a smile. "You must be traveling to Vienna", she said enthusiastically. "No, Munich actually." I responded as if I am missing out on something. "Munich, oooooh" she said, leaving me a bit puzzled. Vienna, after all is a conservative city and I showed up to the airport in jeans and a hoodie.
An 8 hour flight should give me a chance to get some decent sleep. I've been battling some flu-like symptoms for the past week, so with intention to only be woken for food, I am bringing some NyQuil. You must be thinking "what about the crying baby?". Well, don't you worry, I thought ahead and brought a few extra pills for the baby. Unfortunately, not much can be done for the flight attendant ramming a cart into my knees, as was the case on my last flight. For that I just have to mentally brace myself and perhaps get a pair of kneepads - isle seats do have their drawbacks.
Running on a tight schedule - hope german punctuality applies to their airlines. Chauffer will be waiting at the baggage claim and I'm scheduled to pick up the car in Ingolstadt at 9:30, leaving me with no room for delays. Following the car delivery, I get a factory and a museum tour. The tour should cover everything from the stamping process to the finishing touches. I'll try to take pictures(if allowed) and have them posted shortly.
Reaching me in Europe:
Your best option to reach me in the following 3 weeks is to shoot me an email at sergemass@gmail.com. I'll have data in Europe and should respond to you shortly. Texting works fine as well and it's free for incoming texts. Calling is charged at a $1 a minute(minimum charge even for missed calls) so only call if it's really important - it's ok to call on a birthday:)
Off to board the plane. Later
